  • Participate in other activities, including bus tours and cemetery picnics
  • Receive free research advice to members for those facing an apparent ‘brick wall’
  • Receive a 10% discount when purchasing books published by the Society
  • Access reciprocal arrangements with State organisations except the Society of Australian Genealogist in Sydney (see below)
  • Participate in any or all thirteen Special Interest Groups

Reciprocal Arrangements

The Heraldry & Genealogy Society of Canberra (HAGSOC) has reciprocal arrangements with a number of Australasian family history societies. This enables HAGSOC members to use their library facilities when visiting. You need to produce your current membership card on arrival. The following societies are party to reciprocal arrangements.

Although the Society of Australian Genealogists (SAG) has reciprocal arrangement with other societies, it has declined offers from the Heraldry & Genealogy Society of Canberra. Nevertheless as a gesture of goodwill, HAGSOC welcomes members of SAG to our Library.
